How Do I Know If My Crane Personnel Cart Is Osha Compatible?

• An OSHA compliant human basket must meet certain design and construction specifications.
• OSHA considers the overall design, weight load, and ongoing safety inspections.
• OSHA requires that all personnel baskets be designed by a qualified engineer.
• OSHA requires work platforms to be able to support their own weight and five times the maximum intended load.
• The man basket must clearly indicate the carrying capacity on the basket.
• Man baskets should be surrounded by a railing.
• All access doors on the man cart must open inwards and require safety latches.
• Before each use of a man’s basket, the work platform should be retested for safety.
